Monday, June 19, 2017. Gear Checklist for a Camping Newbie. Every now and then, friends ask us some basic camping questions. That woke us up to the fact that not all of our readers are seasoned hikers and campers. We take a step back and look at the basics of planning a camping trip, from gear to some nifty tips and tricks you should be privy to when taking on the Great Outdoors.

We found yellow trillium, purple and yellow violets, anemone, trout lily, and the beginnings of little brown jug. The view from the Rock Creek overlook was so pretty. It is accessible only by hiking and is the only place in the Smoky Mountains where a visitor can sleep overnight in a snug permanent structure. There are no roads that lead to the Lodge. There are five hiking trails that lead to the Lodge ranging in length from 5. 5 miles up to 8 miles.
Our hiking group is made up of hikers from the Murfreesboro Fire Department. We started out with picking all the state parks in Tennessee with overnight trails and are taking them on one at a time. Beckham, Party of 5, Coming soon! We found out in early December that our family will be growing soon! Come August, the Beckhams will be a party of 5! Due to modern science via chromosomal analysis, we learned at 14 weeks that we would be welcoming a baby boy! It was hard to believe at first. It will be such a blessing to have it be a boy to carry on the Beckham name. The family will also have a lot of fun learning how to raise a boy. Friday, March 27, 2015.
